Explorers Club: Lakefront Trail 2026
Feb 8, 2026 • 7:00 PM - 10:00 PM
Explorers Club
🚨 DATE UPDATED: This hike has been moved from late January to early February due to the likely snow and ice expected in late January.
Join Pack 807’s Explorers Club for our first adventure of 2026! We’ll spend the afternoon exploring the Lakefront Trail in Little Elm, enjoying the outdoors, and building confidence on a longer, steady hike together.
This is a moderate hike (mostly flat/easy elevation), but the distance is the challenge — families can choose 4 miles or 8 miles depending on the option below.
Event Details
- Date & Time: Sunday, February 8, 2026 @ 1:00–4:00 PM
- Location: Lakefront Trail, Little Elm (meet at McCord Park)
- **Difficulty:**Moderate
- Distance: 4 miles or 8 miles (choose what works best for your Scout/family)
Hike Options (choose one)
Option A: 8 Miles (Out-and-Back) — Simplest
- Park at McCord Park
- Hike ~4 miles out, then ~4 miles back to McCord Park
- No car shuttle needed
Option B: 4 Miles (One-Way) — Requires a Shuttle
- This is a one-way hike from McCord Park → Beard Park
- You’ll need two cars or to coordinate with another family
- Leave one car at Beard Park
- Then drive to McCord Park and start the hike
- This option is great if 8 miles is too much, but it does take a little planning
