Trail to Troop for AOLs

Get ready, 5th graders — it’s time for the Trail to Troop event at beautiful Camp James Ray! This is a special event just for our Arrow of Light 🏹 Scouts to experience the excitement of Scouts BSA with hands-on activities, outdoor skills, and plenty of fun.

Event Details:

• Date: Saturday, September 20 @ 7:30 am - 5:00 pm
• Location: Camp James Ray – 2026 Mill Creek Rd, Pottsboro, TX 75076
• Who Can Attend: AOL Scouts (5th grade) and their parent/guardian.
• Cost: $15 per person.
  • Pack 807 will cover the Scout’s fee; parents should register and pay for themselves.
  • Covers program, insurance, patch, and event fees — registration is through Black Pug, and late/walk-in registrations are not permitted.

Meals:

Meals are not provided. Please pack a lunch, snacks, and water for the day.

What to Bring:

• Annual Medical Health Record Parts A & B
  • Complete for all participants (parents and scouts)
  • Turn in to Den Leader Chris Alexander before the event so he can provide them at check-in.
• Personal mess kit and water bottle
• Meals and snacks
• Appropriate clothing and footwear for outdoor activities
• Sun protection and bug spray

Special Notes:

• All BSA Youth Protection and Cub Scouting activity guidelines apply.
• The event includes a variety of Scouts BSA–style activities, giving AOLs a sneak peek at their “Trail to Troop.”
