2026 Summer Overnighters

The Texas History Overnighter took families to Waco, while the planned Philmont Family Adventure Camp trip was canceled.

Texas History Overnighter and Waco Surf

Pack 807 traveled to Waco from Saturday, June 13 through Sunday, June 14, 2026 for a Texas history weekend with museums, a hotel overnight, and Waco Surf.

Trip Logistics

• Families provided their own transportation to Waco.
• The group planned to begin together at 9:00 AM Saturday.
• Families needing a shorter trip could leave Saturday evening after the museum activities, dinner, and pool time.
• Participants wore the yellow Pack 807 activity shirt during group activities.
• Families brought swim attire, towels, sunscreen, and other water-park gear for Sunday.

2026 Costs

The following prices were shared for the 2026 trip and are preserved for historical reference:

• Texas Ranger Hall of Fame and Museum: $3 for Scouts and children age 7 or older, free for children under 6, and $7.50 for adults
• Waco Mammoth National Monument: $4 for ages 4 and older and free for ages 3 and younger
• Dr Pepper Museum: $12 for ages 5 and older and free for ages 4 and younger
• Saturday dinner: $12 per person for water, soda, pizza, and dessert

Families paid separately for lodging, Saturday lunch, optional activities, and Waco Surf passes.

Hotel

The Pack planned to stay at Aloft by Marriott Waco Downtown, 900 S. 11th Street, Waco, Texas 76706. The hotel hosted Saturday dinner, pool time, and evening games.

Rates shared during planning were approximately $126 for a king room or $135 for a two-queen room, including taxes and fees with a free Bonvoy membership. These were 2026 planning figures, not current lodging quotes.

• 9:00–11:00 AM: Texas Ranger Hall of Fame and Museum, 100 Texas Ranger Trail
• 9:30 AM: Documentary film
• 10:00 AM: Meet a Texas Ranger
• 10:30 AM: “Home on the Range” recreation outside the museum
• 11:30 AM–12:30 PM: Lunch at Buzzard Billy's Swamp Shack
• 12:45–2:30 PM: Waco Mammoth National Monument, 6220 Steinbeck Bend Drive
• 2:45–4:15 PM: Dr Pepper Museum, 300 S. 5th Street
• 3:30 PM: Optional Make-A-Soda activity for families who booked separately
• 4:30–5:00 PM: Hotel check-in
• 5:30–6:30 PM: Pizza dinner, drinks, and dessert
• 6:30–9:00 PM: Hotel pool and games

Sunday Schedule

• 7:30 AM: Hotel breakfast
• 10:30 AM: Gather in the hotel lobby
• 11:00 AM: Waco Surf water slides and lazy river
• Late afternoon: Depart Waco and drive home

Philmont Family Adventure Camp

Canceled: Pack 807's Philmont Family Adventure Camp trip scheduled for July 25 through August 2, 2026, including travel days, did not take place.
